The Best New Additions on Netflix in America This Week (13th August 2021)

Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix USA:

First up we have the most popular films which this week includes the action film Beckett which sees an American tourist (Beckett) on vacation in Greece become the target of a manhunt after a devastating accident. Forced to run for his life and desperate to get across the country to the American embassy to clear his name, tensions escalate as the authorities close in, political unrest mounts, and Beckett falls even deeper into a dangerous web of conspiracy. In the Mexican drama Asphalt Goddess a woman from a tough neighborhood outside Mexico City comes home a rock star, inadvertently provoking a confrontation with the ghosts of her past. In the African comedy Brother Jekwu a village hustler follows his cousin from Nigeria to Kenya and stumbles into the shady business affairs of a notorious overlord. The Kissing Booth 3 sees Elle plan the ultimate bucket list for her last summer before leaving for college, at the same time as she navigates what comes next with Noah and Lee. Finally for films this week we have the comedy adventure The Paper Tigers  where three Kung Fu prodigies have grown into washed-up, middle-aged men, now one kick away from pulling their hamstrings. But when their master is murdered, they must juggle their dead-end jobs, dad duties, and old grudges to avenge his death.

For TV this week we have AlRawabi School for Girls where the bullied outcasts at the prestigious Al Rawabi School for Girls plot a series of risky takedowns to get back at their tormentors. In the horror series Brand New Cherry Flavor a filmmaker heads to Hollywood in the early ’90s to make her movie but tumbles down a hallucinatory rabbit hole of sex, magic, revenge – and kittens. The Crowned Clown is a Korean drama which is set in the Joseon period, when power struggles surrounding the throne reached extreme levels. In order to escape those who plan to assassinate him, the King puts a clown, who looks exactly like him, on the throne. In the French mystery Gone for Good, based on the novel by Harlan Coben, Guillaume thought he had drawn a line under the terrible tragedy which saw the two people he loved the most die. Ten years later, Judith, whose love has made his life worth living again, suddenly disappears during his mother’s funeral. In the comedy I Need Romance as a hotel concierge manager tries to sort out her relationship with her ex, events take an unforeseen turn when the hotel’s heir enters the picture. And finally this week we have the surprise addition of the first 4 episodes of the 7th and final season of Grace and Frankie.

If you’re a fan of documentaries this week we have Misha and the Wolves which is the dramatic tale of a woman whose holocaust memoir took the world by storm, but a fallout with her publisher – who turned detective – revealed an audacious deception created to hide a darker truth. In Untold: Malice at the Palace key figures from an infamous 2004 incident between players and fans at an NBA game in Michigan discuss the fight, its fallout and its lasting legacy.

For children and families this week we have Bake Squad which sees expert bakers elevate desserts with next-level ideas and epic execution. while they battle to win over clients in need of very special sweets. The animation Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild is set in a world where humans and fearsome monsters live in an uneasy balance, young hunter Aiden fights to save his village from destruction by a dragon. Finally for this week we have season 5 of Fast & Furious Spy Racers and season 2 of Gabby’s Dollhouse.
