The Best New Additions on Netflix in America This Week (4th December 2020)

If you want to know what to watch this weekend then we’re here to give you the lowdown on this week’s biggest and best additions on Netflix USA. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix USA:

It’s a new month so we have had lots of great movies added. A popular addition has been the full Jurassic Park Trilogy: Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III. These action-packed films tell the story of a theme park where dinosaurs have been recreated from their DNA but things don’t quite go as planned… Another classic favourite this week is E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial – a sci-fi film where a young boy bonds with an alien who is trying to get back to his home planet after being accidentally left on Earth. In the action film The 2nd a Secret Service agent is drawn into a terrorist plot when his son’s classmate, the daughter of a Supreme Court Justice, is targeted for kidnapping. Another popular action film is Peppermint which sees a mild-mannered mom redefine herself as a badass vigilante to exact revenge on the people who killed her family.

In the crime thriller Rust Creek a law student heading to an interview takes a wrong turn and gets lost in a forest where two brothers are cooking up trouble… 3 Days to Kill is an action thriller where a terminally ill secret agent accepts a risky mission in exchange for an experimental drug that might save him — if he can survive its side effects. Netflix Original MANK, after a short theatrical run, is now available. This film by David Fincher is set in the 1930s and is about the alcoholic screenwriter Herman J. Mankiewicz as he races to finish “Citizen Kane.” For something a bit more silly and lighthearted we have puppet crime mystery The Happytime Murders; the South American Groundhog Day-style Just Another Christmas; and Adam Sandler’s devilish comedy Little Nicky.

For TV this week we have all 10 seasons of the sci-fi show Stargate SG-1 which follows Jack O’Neill and his crew combating aliens across the galaxy. Season 6 of the reality show The Bachelorette has also been added along with season 3 of The Great British Baking Show: Holidays.

For international TV we have the arrival of Bhaag Beanie Bhaag a Hindi language comedy which follows the life of Beanie, a young girl, who decides to run from her very comfortable life and pursue a career in stand-up comedy. In the South African crime drama Kings of Jo’Burg the Masire brothers rule Johannesburg’s criminal underworld, but a supernatural family curse and a tangled web of betrayal threaten to destroy them. In the Indonesian comedy Check The Store Next Door: The Next Chapter a former shop owner grows bored of retirement, he buys a fish pond and manages the new hijinks in his life with a staff of quirky employees. In the Korean thriller The Guest a psychic, a priest and a detective join forces to take down a powerful spirit that’s driven by a thirst for blood.  Finally for Korean dramas we have The Uncanny Counter where the staff at a noodle shop become demon hunters at night. Also added this week was season 4 of Big Mouth.

Documentaries this week include Alien Worlds which applies the laws of life on Earth to the rest of the galaxy, this series blends science fact and fiction to imagine alien life on other planets. We also have Holiday Movies That Made Us which unwraps the real stories behind the iconic Christmas blockbusters Elf and Nightmare Before Christmas, thanks to insider interviews and behind-the-scenes peeks.

For kids and family films this week we have the sequel to the much loved Angela’s Christmas Angela’s Christmas Wish a tale of a determined little girl who sets out to reunite her family in time for Christmas. RV is a great family comedy starring the late Robin WIlliams and follows the Munroe family as they head on a cross-country trip to the Rockies. With “We Could be Heroes” coming to Netflix in January it’s good to see The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl available again. This great kids’ action film follows two children with strange superpowers as they battle to save the earth. And finally we have Part 3 of Pokémon Journeys: The Series where you can follow the adventures of Ash and his Pokémon Pikachu.

Don’t forget to look at the most popular additions this week and for all the Netflix Originals being added in the upcoming week you can read our separate post.
