If you want to know what to watch this weekend then we’re here to give you the lowdown on this week’s biggest and best film, TV and documentary additions on Netflix UK. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to Netflix in the UK in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

It’s been a rather quiet week this week although we do have a few additions to tell you about. For films this week we have a new Netflix Christmas Film Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey (nothing to do with Saville…). The film is a musical adventure that follows Jeronicus Jangle – a once-great inventor who has lost his belief in himself and his inventions – but he stumbles upon a second chance when his granddaughter comes to town for the holidays. Indian film Ludo tells four very different stories that all have one eccentric criminal in common. In What We Wanted a couple struggling with fertility issues go on holiday to a Sardinian resort but the family next door only adds to the tension of their already struggling marriage. The comedy/horror film Office Uprising has also returned to Netflix UK this week and sees a few office friends battling for survival when a new energy drink turns their colleague into manic zombies.

We also have three Italian films added this week. First is a new Netflix Film The Life Ahead. In the film a Holocaust survivor running a daycare business who forms an unlikely friendship with a bitter street kid when she takes him in after he robs her. The other two films are both from 1955: The Sign of Venus is a romcom where a single woman sets about finding herself a partner after receiving a favorable romantic fortune; Scandal in Sorrento is another romcom which sees a man return to his home to find a woman renting it – but when she refuses to leave, he finds himself drawn to her.

TV this week includes a new family-friendly romantic drama DASH & LILY based on the book series by Rachel Cohn. The series sees two opposites who meet via a diary left in a bookstore; over time they give each other more and more dares and end up falling for each other. But will romance be on the cards for Christmas? The animated war drama The Liberator tells the true story of some of the most heroic fighters of the European invasion in World War II. 40 and Single follows a bridal fashion designer in Ghana struggling against prejudice as she pursues her goals and dreams in life, work… and love. And, finally for TV this week we have all 8 seasons of Girlfriends which is set around four close friends in Los Angeles who challenge and support each other through life’s triumphs and disasters.

Netflix UK has also had some documentaries that may interest you. A popular addition this week is the 8-episode Trial 4 which follows Sean K. Ellis, charged as a teenager with murdering a police officer, as he fights to prove his innocence while exposing police corruption and systemic racism. A Lion in the House is a series that was filmed over six years and follows five families as they navigate the treatments and traumas associated with childhood cancer. And finally for documentaries we have the Brazilian Portuguese film The Beginning of Life 2: Outside which looks at ways of getting youngsters into the out in nature as the world becomes more and more urban.
