Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to Netflix in the UK in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

This week’s top film addition is Blinded by the Light which is set in 1987 in England, and sees a teenager from an Asian family who learns to live his life, understand his family and find his own voice through the music of American rock star Bruce Springsteen. In the crime drama Catch.er an ambitious career woman is found murdered on her wedding anniversary and her husband becomes the prime suspect. However a police investigation unearths others in her life who may also have a strong motive. In the action film Skylines a virus threatens to turn the now earth-dwelling friendly alien hybrids against humans, Captain Rose Corley must lead a team of elite mercenaries on a mission to the alien world in order to save what’s left of humanity. In the thought provoking short film The Present Yusef and his young daughter set out in the West Bank to buy his wife a gift. Between soldiers, segregated roads and checkpoints, how easy is to go shopping? In the thriller Deadly Illusions a bestselling novelist suffers from writer’s block hires a new nanny for her children, when suddenly the line between fiction and reality starts to blur. In the stand up comedy special Nate Bargatze: The Greatest Average American Nate Bargatze touches on Zoom comedy shows, losing his phone, hotel breakfast fails, animal caddies, new math and much more.

For TV this week we have the adult puppet show Abla Fahita: Drama Queen – Abla Fahita has been falsely incriminated and separated from her kids, but the self-indulgent diva will stop at nothing to redeem herself and reunite her family. In the anime B: The Beginning genius investigator Keith Flick rejoins the royal police force just as serial killer “B” emerges. The reality show Black Ink Crew New York follows the tattoo artists at a Harlem tattoo shop and all of the celebrities they cater to. Tariqi: My Way Set in the 1970’s “Dalila” is suffering from oppression and injustice by her aristocratic mother because she wants to be a famous singer. In the drama Sky Rojo, from the team behind “Monet Heist”, a fatal turn of events at a brothel sends three women haunted by their pasts on a wild run from their pimp and his henchmen.

For documentary fans this week we have Operation Varsity Blues: The College Admissions Scandal investigates the mastermind behind a scam to get the kids of rich and famous families into top US universities. In Formula 1: Drive to Survive drivers, managers and team owners live life in the fast lane — both on and off the track — during each cutthroat season of Formula 1 racing; this season there’s the added challenge of Covid-19. In Leaving Neverland two men tell their story of childhood sexual abuse in this two-part documentary detailing allegations against Michael Jackson. Using dramatised reconstructions The Lost Pirate Kingdom tells the story of the real-life pirates of the Caribbean who violently plundered the world’s riches and formed a surprisingly egalitarian republic. Under Suspicion: Uncovering the Wesphael Case examines the story of Belgian politician Bernard Wesphael, who was accused of murdering his wife, Véronique Pirotton, in 2013 when she had been found dead in a hotel room in Ostend.

For kids and families this week we have Alien TV where Alien reporters Ixbee, Pixbee and Squee travel to a lovely but odd planet called Earth, where they attempt to make sense of humans and their hobbies. In Country Comfort an aspiring country singer finds new life as a nanny for a handsome widower and his five charming children. Waffles + Mochi sees curious puppet pals Waffles and Mochi travel the world to explore the wonders of food and culture while learning how to cook with fresh ingredients. Finally for this week we have Zero Chill where talented teen figure skater Kayla is forced to leave everything behind when her family follows her twin brother, Mac, to a prestigious hockey academy. We also have the CG-animated family film Wonder Park.
