The top film addition this week has been the satirical drama The Death of Stalin. After the death of Russian dictator Joseph Stalin throws the Soviet Union into comic chaos, his ambitious but addled ministers do their utmost to try and take over the role. Jackie has been another popular addition this week and tells the story of first lady Jacqueline Kennedy when allows a reporter to interview her just one week after the JFK’s assassination. Another sci-fi thriller worth watching is the new Netflix Film Stowaway where a three-person crew on a mission to Mars face an impossible choice when an unplanned passenger jeopardises the lives of everyone on board.

Other films this week that we recommend include the Japanese psychological thriller HOMUNCULUS. When a homeless amnesiac awakens from an experimental medical procedure with the ability to see people’s innermost traumas, his vision of truth and illusion starts to blur. Indian comedy Delhi Belly is an English-language film that follows three flatmates as they get involved in the shady business belonging to one roomie’s fiancé, only discover that a global crime syndicate is gunning for them. And finally for films we have the Indian drama Lagaan – set in 1890s India, an arrogant British commander challenges the harshly taxed residents of Champaner to a high-stakes cricket match.

New TV series this week include the fantasy series Shadow and Bone based on the popular series of novels by Leigh Bardugo. Dark forces conspire against orphan mapmaker Alina Starkov when she unleashes an extraordinary power that could change the fate of her war-torn world. Italian sci-fi series Zero follows a shy teen with the power to turn invisible  – but he must get it under control to help defend his neighborhood, putting aside the pursuit of his artistic dream. Finally for TV we have the Thai series Let’s Fight Ghost sees a med student with a supernatural gift cashing in on his abilities by facing off against ghosts – that is until a wandering spirit brings romance instead.
