The End of The F***ing World Season 2 May Take a Year to Arrive on Netflix

Season 2 of the Channel 4 and Netflix Co-Production “The End of The F***ing World” may not arrive on Netflix until up to a year after it airs on the UK’s Channel 4. It’s unclear whether the delay will only affect the UK release or worldwide but it comes in light of comments made by Ian Katz, Channel 4’s content boss during a recent interview. The first episode of the show aired in the UK in October 2017 and the full season was then available as a boxset on their All4 streaming service. A few months later, in January 2018, the series was available as a Netflix Original around the globe. However, this is unlikely to be the case for season 2 as Katz said:

Next time we’ll run the whole series on the channel then there will be a conventional hold back of more than a year before people see it on Netflix. It really bugs me that people think that show is a Netflix show, I really want to reclaim ownership of it, it’s absolutely a Channel 4 show.

There are no publicised release dates for season 2 either for Channel 4 or Netflix so we still don’t know if this will only affect Netflix UK or everyone. So, for now, those in the UK should expect to be watching season 2 on All4 with these things called ‘adverts’…
