Netflix has confirmed that “Heartstopper” will return for at least two more seasons with the show being officially renewed for seasons two and three. Alice Oseman, creator of the original webcomic (which were later published as a graphic novel), will return as writer and creator for the new seasons.
The story follows Charlie, a gentle teenaged boy, and rugby-loving Nick who meet at secondary school. When they quickly discover that their unlikely friendship is blossoming into an unexpected romance, Charlie, Nick and their circle of friends must navigate the ever relatable journey of self discovery and acceptance – supporting each other as they learn to find their most authentic selves.
The series debuted on April 22nd and has been a huge, global success. The series has a 100% Critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes and is ‘certified fresh’; has just topped Variety’s Trending TV chart for the fourth consecutive week; and reached the Netflix Top Ten list in 54 countries!
