The Punisher – Rumoured Release Date [UPDATED]

While we prefer to deal with cold, hard facts here at New On Netflix we can’t help but join in with the speculation and ‘secrecy’ surrounding the upcoming Marvel series “The Punisher”. Over the last month there have been a number of cryptic posts on social media that tease the show’s arrival but they always fail to give a release date. Even the trailer that was released today fails to give a date – instead blanking it out in both the video and the YouTube description as: “Marvel’s The Punisher premieres globally █████ 2017, only on Netflix.” – so the only thing we know for certain is it that “The Punisher” arrives this year!

So, with all the teases from Netflix they clearly want us to speculate and a lot of people are suggesting it may arrive on 10th November. The reasoning behind this is that Frank Castle, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe at least, was in the United States Marine Corps and November 10th is the anniversary of the founding of what became the Marines. It’s also a Friday and most Netflix Originals arrive on a Friday (except the comedy specials which usually come on a Tuesday). November has also been suggested for a number of months so this fits in with the older theories too.

Total Film have published a date of 13th October in their latest magazine – much earlier than anyone expected. That, along with Netflix saying ‘Nope’ on Facebook when asked if it would be November should be getting some of you excited. Thanks to the Netflix UK & Ireland Fan Page for the tip-off.
