It has previously been announced that Season 5 of “Lucifer” will be it’s final season however there are reports that the show’s star Tom Ellis has signed on for a 6th season with Netflix. We already know that the fifth season will be released in two parts with 8 episodes in each – making it 60% longer with 16, instead of the usual 10, episodes. Production of season 5 is currently on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic. We’ll update you if we hear any further news about a potential renewal.
Netflix picked up the Warner Bros. series for a fourth season, which was released in May last year, after being dropped by Fox after three seasons. Co-showrunners Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich said: “We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season, and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms. Most importantly, we want to thank the fans for their incredible passion and support. The best is yet to come!” (TV Line). The series stars Tom Ellis as the titular fallen angel and the Lord of Hell, who works with the LAPD to take down Earth’s criminals.

OMG if this is true, I am thrilled. One of the few things that Netflix has got right. If it’s false there will be many disappointed fans !!!!
