This Week’s New Releases on Netflix UK (1st March 2019)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

We’ve had over 100 new additions to Netflix UK this week so it’s going to be very hard to pick out all the good stuff with so much to choose from! The most popular addition this week is the horror/thriller hit Get Out starring Daniel Kaluuya as an African-American teen who visits his white girlfriends family… with terrifying results. Another great horror/thriller is As Above, So Below set in the hellish catacombs below Paris.

If action and drama are more your thing then there’s the classic Apollo 13 which follows the almost disastrous lunar mission from 1970 and Martin Scorsese’s gangster film GoodFellas. You can also see the fascinating story of how an African boy created his own windmill from old bikes and other junk to provide power for his village in The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind – based on real events. If you need things a bit more lighthearted then the accidental rom-com amusings of Isn’t It Romantic would be worth adding to your list as well as the silliness of The Break-Up. Speaking of silliness, how about the rude and foul-mouthed bear Ted or the kitten-lover turned drug-dealer shenanigans in Keanu. Or if you just want to wind down and relax with the songs of Abba telling a love story then check out Mamma Mia!.

Anime fans have a few new additions this week including season 3 of The Disastrous Life of Saiki K, Blue Exorcist and Blue Exorcist -Kyoto Saga-. Other TV additions include the final part of Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments (new episode every Tuesday) as well more episodes of classic America game show Jeopardy!. We also have the return of RuPaul’s Drag Race (season 11, new episodes every Friday) as well as, for the first time on Netflix, the ‘behind the scenes’ extra RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked!.

For those who enjoy a good documentary on Netflix we have the biographical story of the late evangelist Billy Graham: An Extraordinary Journey as well as I, Dolours which looks at former IRA member Dolours Price. And if you enjoyed the recent series of ‘Dirty John’ then take a look at the documentary about the man that the series was based upon: Dirty John: The Dirty Truth.

There are some great children and family additions this week on Netflix UK too. Some of the most popular include the Disney live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson; the mystery-solving capers of Mystery Inc. in Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed; and the comedic shenanigans of a bumbling secret agent in Johnny English and Johnny English Reborn.

The BBCs recent remake of Watership Down has now been added in case you missed it on iPlayer over Christmas as well as the family favourite Smurfs: The Lost Village. And finally for the younger viewers there’s a new season of the great Korean series Larva Island.

Don’t forget to look at the most popular additions this week and for all the Netflix Originals added today you can read our separate post. To see what else is due to arrive this month have a look at our post here: What’s Coming to Netflix UK in February 2019?
