Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:
It has been a fairly quiet week this week as things start to wind down for the end of the month however there are still some great additions. The most popular film added this week has been the sci-fi thriller Life where the discovery of a single-celled organism in a sample from Mars causes excitement – that is until the life-form starts displaying signs of intelligence. The Legend of Tarzan stars Alexander Skarsgård as Tarzan; having spent some time in London he heads back to the Congo to fight off colonialists in the 19th-century. Paddleton is a new Netflix Original starring Mark Duplass Ray Romano; the dark comedy sees Michael asking his neighbour Andy to help him end his life after getting a diagnosis of terminal cancer. We also have the Korean crime film The Drug King [Ma-yak-wang] in which a petty smuggler from Busan dives headfirst into illicit drug trafficking in the 1970s and rises to become king of narcotics exports to Japan.
British drama film Hampstead has been another popular addition this week and sees an American widow living in London form a relationship with a man living in the wild in Hampstead Heath. The Photographer Of Mauthausen [El fotógrafo de Mauthausen] tells the real-life story of a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp who, while working in the offices, risks his job and his life to steal photographic negatives that show the atrocities being carried out at the camp. And, finally for the younger viewers there’s the animated tale Sherlock Gnomes which sees Gnomeo and Juliet team up with the titular detective to find their missing friends.
For TV additions we have season 7 of the CIA series Homeland as well as season 2 of Italian Netflix Original Suburra: Blood on Rome. Other TV additions include the Eastenders spin-off Redwater which sees Kat and Alfie Moon heading to Ireland to find their long lost son. There’s also a new Canadian series Workin’ Moms that follows four new mums as they return to work while navigating kids, bosses, love and life in modern-day Toronto.
