This Week’s New Releases on Netflix UK (25th May 2018)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

It has been a quiet week on Netflix UK with only 24 new additions, so without further ado here are my top picks, of things to watch over the bank holiday weekend.

First up for film lovers we have Maze, which is inspired by the true events of the infamous 1983 prison breakout of 38 IRA prisoners from HMP Maze, which was to become the biggest prison escape in Europe since World War II. Grab some tissues because Reign Over Me, which stars Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle, is the story of a man who lost his family in the September 11 attack on New York City runs into his old college roommate. Rekindling the friendship is the one thing that appears able to help the man recover from his grief. For the geeks, we have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2 where The Turtles take on the notorious Krang.

There have been a couple of interesting documentaries added this week. First we have Making Fun: The Story of Funko which follows the story of the worldwide marvel that is Funko and how it went from humble beginnings in a garage in Redmond to seeing its Pop! Figures take over the pop culture product industry. It also looks at how pop culture has spread on a global scale and the unique passion of the collectables industry. Survivors Guide to Prison gives audiences the chance to get a harrowing look at how barbaric the US justice system is.

For those of you who like streaming Non-English content, there have been some interesting additions including Hindi language film Colours of Passion – inspired by the real life of painter Raja Ravi Varma. Mob Psycho 100 a live-action Japanese language remake of a popular anime cartoon and the Spanish stand up comedy special Fernando Sanjiao: Hombre.

There have also been a number of TV series’ added this week including season 5 of Episodes, season 25 of Top Gear and as an accompaniment to top gear we have Extra Gear season 3. Another notable addition this week is season 2 of The Toys That Made Us which this time includes LEGO.

Don’t forget to look at the most popular additions this week and for all the Netflix Originals added today you can read our separate post.
