This Week’s New Releases on Netflix UK (29th March 2019)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

For those of you wanting to watch some films this weekend first up we have the classic Back to The Future Trilogy: Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part II, and Back to the Future Part III, were all added this week. In these three films we follow the time travelling adventures of Marty McFly and Doc Brown. In the 1980’s horror classic The Thing scientists working in Antarctica abandon their research after a helicopter crashes near the camp, bringing a lone dog into their midst. The Miseducation of Cameron Post tells the story of a gay teenage girl who is sent to a Christian conversion-therapy camp – a great film that flew under the radar with its cinematic release. Biopic England Is Mine paints the early career of vocalist Steven Morrissey in 1970s Manchester before he became the frontman of ’80s band The Smiths. A new Netflix Film, The Highwaymen, sees Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson as the police who tracked and killed the infamous Bonnie and Clyde. Finally for films this week we have Agatha and the Truth of Murder a dramatised depiction of her 11-day disappearance, which sees novelist Agatha Christie solve a real murder amid a crisis in her writing and marriage.

The binge-worthy TV added this week includes BBC drama Bodyguard, which sees a war veteran assigned to protect a politician who was a main proponent of the very conflict he fought in. French sci-fi drama Osmosis sees two brilliant siblings unveil a high-tech implant designed to pair up soul mates. Also added this week were season 5 of the Netflix original Jane The Virgin (with new episodes added weekly), season 3 of the Netflix original Santa Clarita Diet and season 2 of On My Block.

The only documentary added this week has been the comedic crime documentary The Legend of Cocaine Island, where an urban legend about a duffel bag of cocaine buried in the Caribbean leads a misfit band to hatch a nutball plan to find it – who says documentaries should all be serious?!

Finally for this week if you are looking for something to enjoy with the whole family we have The Boxtrolls which tells the story of a young orphaned boy who is raised by underground cave-dwelling trash collectors, and how he must try to save them from an evil exterminator. When Mr Bean heads to the french riviera in Mr. Bean’s Holiday you know he will find himself in some awkward situations. In the animated film Ballerina (aka Leap!) two orphans run away to Paris to pursue their dreams of becoming ballerinas. Finally for the family this week we have season 1 of The Worst Witch which is an adaptation of the books by Jill Murphy.
