This Week’s New Releases on Netflix UK (31st August 2018)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

This week has been a fairly quiet one for Netflix UK but, as we are at the end of the month, that’s probably to be expected. So without further ado I’ll get started on telling you my pick of this week’s additions. The most popular additions amongst our social media users this week have been Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, the story of two men’s hallucinogenic three-day romp from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. Paradise PD, an adult cartoon comedy about a small town police force and, finally for this week’s most popular additions, we have season 2 of the Netflix original series Ozark.

My pick of the films are Patch Adams a lovely family film which stars the late Robin Williams, as a man who sets out to become a doctor and add humour to his patient’s lives. We also have the third film in the Bridget Jones trilogy, Bridget Jones’s Baby where at 43 and single Bridget finds herself pregnant and unprepared. Finally, for this week’s films, we have the Netflix Original The Laws of Thermodynamics, when a physicist uses the laws of thermodynamics to describe romance and relationships, his theories prove faulty when it comes to his own love life.

Of the TV series’ that have been added this week I’m most excited about the third season of Ultimate Beastmaster, which for the first time has a British team of contestants. This means that we are also treated to Ultimate Beastmaster Great Britain, which will showcase the British commentary team of Kate Abdo and Stu Bennett. Also for the TV series, we have the documentary series Chicken Soup for the Soul’s Being Dad, which follows nine dads from around America with different family structures, backgrounds and jobs as they navigate the joys and challenges of fatherhood. Finally, this week if you are looking for something a little different we have the Hindi language sitcom Yeh Meri Family which is set in the summer of 1998, as middle child Harshu balances school, family, friendship and other challenges of growing up.
