This Week’s New Releases on Netflix UK (31st May 2019)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

The pick of this weeks films include Baby Driver, which sees smooth-faced music junkie and getaway driver Baby in deep with a bad dude – he’s got just one job left, but it’s all about to go sideways. It Comes at Night is an indie-horror film about a family man who whilst trying to protect his family faces a tough decision, when another family seeks help. In The Back-Up Plan, when she gets tired of looking for Mr. Right, Zoe decides to have a baby on her own but on the day she’s artificially inseminated, she meets her perfect match. This week we also have British zombie film Redcon-1  where a viral outbreak produces a massive zombie influx, and a group of commandoes takes on a life-threatening mission to save a scientist with the cure. For Netflix Films we recommend the new romcom Always Be My Maybe which sees childhood sweethearts meeting up again in later life to learn that they have moved on – but will their old flame be rekindled?

There have only been two documentaries added this week, firstly the documentary film After Porn Ends explores the careers of some of porn’s top stars and examines their adjustment to “normal” society after leaving adult entertainment. Whilst Killer Ratings tells of Brazilian TV personality and politician Wallace Souza who faced accusations of masterminding the violent crimes he reported on and rallied against.

The pick of the TV that has been added this week includes When They See Us, a 4-part crime drama which is based on the true story of five teens from Harlem who become trapped in a nightmare when they were falsely accused of a brutal attack in Central Park. New Netflix Original Historical Roasts is a politically-incorrect stand-up comedy show where “Roastmaster General” Jeff Ross and a slew of guest stars poke fun at major historical figures while also honouring their enduring impact on the world. Finally for this week a couple of series that have been added for families include The Cat in the Hat Knows a Lot About That! where, with the help of fish, thing 1, and thing 2; the Cat in the Hat teaches kids about many things through song and games. And for those families that enjoy watching Britain’s Got Talent together, a new weekly addition that may fill the void left over after this Sunday’s final is America’s Got Talent which will see performers from around the globe compete in a variety showcase for a chance at worldwide fame and a major cash prize – new episodes will be added weekly.

There are also some Netflix Originals worth adding to your list this week. First we have season 2 of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman – the new season of the relaxed interview/chat show is available in one go rather than being released monthly and includes Kanye West, Ellen DeGeneres, Lewis Hamilton and more. New German series How to Sell Drugs Online (Fast) tells the story of a teen who loses his girlfriend to a drug dealer and attempts to win her back by becoming a bigger and better dealer… And, finally, many of you will also enjoy Season 2 of the comedy series Good Girls where a group of local mums pull off a robbery to help with their finances.
