Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So without further ado let’s see what we have for this week:
The big arrival this week was The Cloverfield Paradox – a sci-fi romp that is part of the Cloverfield universe. This was a surprise addition after the Super Bowl in America that took a lot of people by surprise. Scientists in a space station orbiting a planet are testing a new device to solve the energy crisis and inadvertantly create a very dark, alternate reality. While it is a standalone film, “The Cloverfield Paradox” does attempt to answer some of the questions left in the original Cloverfield movie – which also returned to Netflix this week. 10 Cloverfield Lane will also arrive on 25th February.
Seeing Allred could probably not be better timed. Gloria Allred has spent 40 years protecting women’s rights, overcoming personal trauma, media scrutiny, and powerful men. Discussing the likes of Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby and more. Consisting of archive footage as well as new, sit-down interviews with her supporters and critics the documentary examines Allred’s personal life as well as looking at her victories against Bill Cosby and Donald Trump.
Irish film Cardboard Gangsters has been a popular addition this week. The movie follows Jay, a low-level drug dealer, and his friends in Darndale, Dublin as they decide to move up into the big league to make more money. However, their plans soon hit a major issue – no everyone in Darndale is willing to give up without a fight. It’s an 18 for a reason though – violent, dark and savage at times.
For TV shows we have the new Queer Eye series with a brand new Fab Five as they attempt to give various Americans a complete makeover – their homes, fashion, diets and more. We also have a great interview with George Clooney in this month’s episode of My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman.
