This Week’s New Releases on Netflix USA (13th March 2020)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds or haven’t checked the main website, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix USA:

If you’re one of the many people this week in the USA who are self-isolating, working from home or have children whose schools are shut due to Coronavirus Covid-19 and are wondering what to watch on Netflix – wonder no longer. Here at New On Netflix we’ve put together a write-up of what we (with the help of our social media users) think are the best things that have been added to Netflix UK this week.

For films this week we have Netflix Original movie Go Karts – with the help of his good friends and a surly ex-driver who becomes his coach, a reckless teen must overcome tremendous odds and his own recklessness to achieve his dream of winning the National Go Kart Championship. In the LGBTQ horror Last Ferry a young gay lawyer travels to Fire Island in the off-season, to seek romance but soon finds himself on the run after witnessing a murder. Or for something a bit different why not try the stand-up comedy show Marc Maron: End Times Fun which sees Marc Maron wade through a swamp of vitamin hustlers, evangelicals and grown male nerd children, culminating in a gleefully filthy end-times fantasy. Finally for films this week we have Turkish drama Miracle in Cell No. 7 which sees a father with an intellectual disability separated from his daughter before he is jailed for the death of a commander’s child and sets out to prove his innocence.

For binge-worthy TV this week we have the Netflix original anime BEASTARS which is set in a school populated by anthropomorphic animals and sees a humble wolf with anxiety investigate a classmate’s sudden murder, whilst contending with his bewildering feelings for a kindly dwarf rabbit. Tongue-in-cheek Netflix horror anthology series Bloodride follows the doomed passengers aboard a spectral bus as they head toward a gruesome, unknown destination, each of the 6 stories are set in their own realistic, yet weird universe: six unique tales of terror, told with glee and enthusiasm. Whilst in the Netflix Original comedy Fary : Hexagone french comedy phenomenon Fary puts a playful spin on questions of identity, culture and more in the first half of an epic two-part stand-up special. Other notable additions this week are Kingdom season 2 and On My Block season 3.

For documentaries this week we have the social experiment 100 Humans which sees one hundred people from diverse backgrounds participate in playful experiments exploring age, sex, happiness and other aspects of being human. Q Ball follows the San Quentin Prison basketball squad, and their journey of rehabilitation and possible redemption. Docuseries The Animal People was 15 years in the making and follows the journey of six young Americans who find themselves targeted as terrorists by the US government for their involvement in a controversial protest campaign, and is a chilling portrait of what happens when activism rattles the institutions of power. Finally for documentaries this week we have Dirty Money season 2.

For family viewing this week we have the Netflix original interactive show Carmen Sandiego: To Steal or Not to Steal you can help Carmen save Ivy and Zack when V.I.L.E. captures them during a heist in Shanghai. Finally for family this week we have the Netflix original silent short animation Sitara: Let Girls Dream  which is set in 1970s Pakistan where 14-year-old Pari longs to be a pilot, unaware that her father plans to marry her off to a much older man.

Don’t forget to look at the most popular additions this week and for all the Netflix Originals added today you can read our separate post.
