TNT’s Post-Apocalyptic Thriller “Snowpiercer” to End After Season 4

TNT has announced that their futuristic thriller “Snowpiercer”, a Netflix Original outside of America, will come to an end after its fourth season. The series is based on the 2013 movie of the same name by “Okja”-creator Bong Joon-Ho and stars Daveed Diggs as Layton, Alison Wright as Ruth and Sean Bean as Mr Wilford.

The series is set seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland and centers on the remnants of humanity, who inhabit a gigantic, perpetually-moving train that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival are questioned in this riveting television adaptation. Throughout the story new power struggles emerge along with unexpected new characters.

The show will be the final original content from TNT due to the Discovery-WarnerMedia merger (Warner owned TNT and have been scaling down on original content for the long-running cable channel).

The first three seasons are currently on Netflix outside of America with Season 4 expected to premiere in late January 2023.
