For film fans this week we have Zombieland: Double Tap where, a decade after their first adventure, the zombie-bashing team of Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita, and Little Rock move to the American heartland. Here, they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors, and the growing pains of their own makeshift family. Malcolm X is a biographical epic of the controversial and influential Black Nationalist leader, from his early life and career as a small-time gangster, to his ministry as a member of the Nation of Islam. In the action film Kate a ruthless assassin working in Tokyo is slipped a fatal poison on her final job and has less than 24 hours to find out who ordered the hit and exact revenge. 1917 is set during World War I, where two British soldiers attempt to cross enemy lines to deliver a message that could save hundreds, including one’s own brother. Finally for films we have the Swedish teen drama JJ+E where Elisabeth and John-John live in the same city, but they inhabit different worlds. They hope their passionate first love can break through class and cultural barriers?

The most popular TV shows this week have been On the Verge a comedy that sees four women a chef, a single mom, an heiress and a job seeker dig into love and work, with a generous side of midlife crises, in pre-pandemic LA. In the Korean crime drama Witch at Court a headstrong prosecutor and a former child psychiatrist grudgingly unite to solve crimes against women and children. Couple on the Backtrack having married young, Choi Ban Doo and Ma Jin Joo regret their marriage of 18 years, when a strange occurrence has them traveling back in time to the day before they met and into their younger selves. In the reality competition series Metal Shop Masters a group of metal artists torch, cut and weld epic, badass creations from hardened steel in a bid to win a $50,000 prize. Finally for TV this week we have The Circle USA where players start off isolated in an apartment, and with their online interactions (using the social media platform called “The Circle”) as their only means of any communication they can be anyone they want to be. We also have the first part of the final season of Lucifer.

Un-usually for Netflix UK there has been a lot of documentaries added this week including Countdown: Inspiration4 Mission to Space is an all-access docuseries which rides along with the Inspiration4 crew on the first all-civilian orbital space mission; from training to launch to landing. Blood Brothers: Malcolm X & Muhammad Ali documents the friendship of these two great men from a chance meeting to a tragic fallout, Malcolm X and Muhammad Ali’s extraordinary bond cracks under the weight of distrust and shifting ideals. Untold: Breaking Point looks at how Mardy Fish faced mental health challenges that changed his life on and off the court. The Women and the  Murderer traces the capture of serial killer Guy Georges through the tireless work of two women: a police chief and a victim’s mother. Finally we have Kalin And The Jail Team which shows how a prison psychologist in Kazichene, Bulgaria, uses unconventional methods to bring out the best in the inmates under his care.

For children and families this week we have season 2 of Kid Cosmic where a young boys dreams of being a superhero come true when he finds 5 powerful cosmic stones.
