What To Watch Once You’ve Finished “The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two”

It’s that time of year where families gather together in their cosy pyjamas with a nice hot chocolate and watch some festive family in the build up to Christmas. The problem with Netflix is that there is just so much to choose from! The Christmas Chronicles: Part 2 was recently added and you’ve already watched it – so what else is there?

As you know doubt remember in 2018’s The Christmas Chronicles two children, Kate and Teddy, notice Santa Claus in their home and jump into his sleigh with his reindeer; however, the sleigh eventually malfunctions and crashes, and the Christmas presents are lost. As Christmas morning approaches, it is up to the children and Santa to save Christmas by finding and correctly delivering all presents. In the sequel, cunningly titled The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two, we see an older Kate and Teddy on a Christmas vacation in Mexico but when Kate gets zapped through a portal to the North Pole she ends up being rescued by Santa. We learn more about Santa and Mrs Claus as well as discovering the mischievous elf, Belsnickel, and how he plans to destroy Santa… Can Kate and her brother help save Santa once again?

Get Santa

In this British comedy Santa crashes his sleigh and catches the attention of the local police, before asking a father and son for help to round up his reindeer so he can return home and ensure that Christmas is not ruined for all.

In this animated film which is set on Christmas night, tells a story about Arthur Claus, the clumsy but goodhearted son of Father Christmas, who discovers that Santa’s high-tech sleigh has failed to deliver one girl’s present. In response, he embarks on a mission to save her Christmas, accompanied only by his free-spirited and reckless grandfather, a rebellious yet enthusiastic young Christmas elf obsessed with wrapping gifts for children, and a team of eight strong, magical yet untrained reindeer.

The Knight Before Christmas

After a sorceress transports medieval knight Sir Cole to present-day Ohio during the holiday season, he befriends Brooke, a clever and kind science teacher who’s been disillusioned by love. Brooke helps Sir Cole navigate the modern world and tries to help him discover how to fulfil his mysterious one true quest – the only act that will return him home. But as he and Brooke grow closer, Sir Cole begins to wonder just how much he wants to return to his old life.

Zip And Zap To The Captains Island

It’s Christmas and for Zip and Zap there will be no Christmas vacation, but instead they will go on a seemingly boring boat trip with their parents instead. To their surprise, the destination is a spectacular remote island. When a storm rolls in they’re forced to seek shelter at a mansion belonging to the eccentric Miss Pam, where children without families enjoy a paradise with no rules. Helped by their new friends, Flecky, Macky and Pippi, the brothers discover that their parents’ sudden disappearance in the middle of the night is related to the mysterious secret behind the island and its strange inhabitants.

Santas Apprentice

In this cute animation Santa must train someone to replace him, the lucky boy, must be named Nicholas, be an orphan and have a pure heart. On the other side of the planet, there is a little boy who is a perfect match, but his lack of self-confidence and fear of heights make him a poor contestant. Will Santa agree to step down, and help his apprentice take his place?

Nativity

When primary school teacher Paul Maddens is charged with producing the school’s nativity play, and competing against the posh rival school for the honour of best reviewed show in town, he boasts that his ex-girlfriend Jennifer, a Hollywood Producer, is coming to see his show with a view to turning it into a film. The only trouble is they haven’t spoken in years. With eccentric assistant Mr Poppy fuelling his ‘little white lie’, his only hope is to get back in touch with Jennifer and lure Hollywood to town so that everybody’s Christmas wishes come true.

I’ll Be Home For Christmas

In this hallmark film Jackie, a dynamic Assistant District Attorney and single mom, is looking forward to wrapping up her latest case and spending Christmas with her adorable and precocious eight-year old daughter. But when Jackie’s estranged dad unexpectedly shows up at her door, they will be forced to confront old wounds.

This Christmas

A middle-class African-American family reunites for Christmas for the first time in several years. As with any family gathering there are topics that are best not discussed. One sister is encouraging the siblings to sell the family dry cleaning business and split the profits. One brother is running from loan sharks. One brother is AWOL from the Marine Corps and one sister has brought along the man she’s dating at a historically black college. This is not a warm syrupy comedy, it is family warts and all there are dramatic moments, and moderate violence and language.

The Grinch

In the town of Whoville, human-like creatures called Whos are filled with excitement about celebrating Christmas. The only one who isn’t amused is a  green furred creature called The Grinch. The Grinch’s only friend is his loyal pet dog Max. Meanwhile, six-year-old Cindy-Lou Who notices that her mother Donna is overworked trying to take care of her and her twin infant brothers, Buster and Bean. She at first decides to send a letter to Santa Claus to help her mother but after encountering the Grinch, who sarcastically says that she’ll have to talk to Santa face-to-face about it, she eventually decides to try and trap Santa with the help of her friends.

My Christmas Inn

With the holiday season in full swing, Jen Taylor is about to score a big promotion at the San Francisco ad agency where she works. But her life is unexpectedly turned upside down when she inherits a cozy inn in Alaska from her aunt. When she goes to inspect the property and meets handsome town attorney Brian Anderson, she’s surprised to find that nothing is what she expected. The small town community is full of fun and festive Christmas traditions and soon, Jen starts wondering if the inn might just be the place she belongs, and if Steve could be the Mr. Right she has been waiting for.

Christmas Inheritance

In this sweet family film, ambitious heiress Alpha Ellen Langford can’t inherit her father’s gift business, until she hand delivers a special Christmas card to her dad’s former partner in Snow Falls, the hometown she never knew. When a snowstorm strands her at the town inn, she’s forced to work for her keep, and in the process, finds romance with a local artist and discovers the true gift of Christmas.

Fireplace For Your Home

Okay, Fireplace For Your Home isn’t a film but would be the perfect accompaniment to an evening of wrapping presents, playing games of reading books. It includes an old-fashioned wood-burning fireplace, as well as a natural crackling yule log fireplace all set to Christmas favourites.
