What Was New on Netflix UK This Week? (14th September 2018)

Another week has passed and, in case you missed our social media feeds, we’re here to give you the run down on this week’s additions just in time for your weekend binge sessions. Here we will give you our top picks as well as a full list of everything added to the streaming service in the last week. So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

This last week has certainly been interesting with regards to new additions. We’ve had a real mixed bag of some classic films, new films, updated TV and some great new Netflix Originals too. The 80’s classic The Breakfast Club made a welcome return and sees Emilio Estevez and Molly Ringwald starring as highschool kids who end up in a Saturday detention. The group of misfits end up forming an unlikely bond in this heartwarming teen comedy. Another welcome return this week is Steven Spielberg’s Schindler’s List which tells the story of Oskar Schindler as he tries to save over 1,000 Jews from Auschwitz during World War 2.

The Game is a 90’s thriller from David Fincher starring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn; On his birthday, Nicholas is given an invite to a game by “CRS” – a very unique game that ends up with Nicholas unable to tell the difference between the game and reality. Other films worth a mention include the indie comedy The Square and Bleach – a Japanese live-action version of the anime series of the same name.

For TV we have season 2 of the horror/western series Wynonna Earp and, following on from the horror theme, season 7 of American Horror Story – known as ‘Cult’. For something a bit more laid back there’s season 2 of the spoof ‘real crime’ show American Vandal and season 5 of the animal-themed BoJack Horseman. Anime fans may be interested in LAST HOPE (known as ‘Unit Pandora’ in America) in which, after causing the near extinction of mankind seven years ago, genius scientist Leon Lau must now fight the ecological disaster he unwittingly created.

Fans of Scottish comedian Daniel Sloss will likely enjoy his 2 new Netflix specials that were added this week in Daniel Sloss: Live Shows – which includes his two shows “Dark” and “Jigsaw”.

For the younger viewers we have a new Netflix animated series The Dragon Prince which follows two human princes and an elven assassin as they team up on an epic quest to bring peace to their warring lands. We’ve been given season 3 of the Angry Birds cartoon series as well as the second Nanny McPhee film: Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.

Don’t forget to look at the most popular additions this week and for all the Netflix Originals added today you can read our separate post.
