So here are our top picks from this week’s additions on Netflix UK:

This week has seen nearly 60 new additions with a good selection of films, TV series and children’s content too. So let’s start with the top films on Netflix UK this week. First up we have the great, classic 80’s family film The Goonies which sees a group of kids go on an adventure following a pirate treasure map. Another popular addition this week is the psychological thriller Nocturnal Animals which has gallery owner Susan digging up her past after reading her ex-husbands violent novel. The Last Days on Mars is a British sci-fi film that has a team of astronauts on Mars that discovers a strain of bacteria that turns humans into killers. Cate Blanchett and Robert Redford star in Truth a fact-based drama that recounts the 2004 reporting scandal that cost news producer Mary Mapes her job and tarnished the reputation of anchor Dan Rather.

Sci-fi action film Illang: The Wolf Brigade is a live-action version of a 1999 animation ‘Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade’ which sees North and South Korea forming a joint government, the political problems it causes and a hidden enemy lurking nearby… Another foreign language film worth a mention is Soorma – a Hindi biopic that tells the story of hockey player Sandeep Singh as he fights to make a comeback after being paralysed by an accidental gunshot.

The big TV shows added this week are part 2 of Netflix docu-series Making a Murderer which continues the story of Steven Avery as he fights for freedom after being jailed for murder. Marvel’s Daredevil has returned for season 3 which sees the titular hero return to the streets as his nemesis Wilson Fisk returns from prison. Anime fans will enjoy season 3 of The Seven Deadly Sins which… well, it’s anime – I’m not going to try and explain the storyline…!

A number of TV shows have been updated with new episodes being added each week – these include Dynasty season 2, Black Lightning season 2 and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend season 4.

There have been some great additions for younger viewers too including the animated halloween sci-fi film Gnome Alone which sees Chloe teaming up with a group of talking garden gnomes in order to save the world. Older kids will enjoy the return of the TV series My Babysitter’s a Vampire as well as season 2 of Power Rangers Ninja Steel.

For the really young Netflix fans we have seasons 1-2 of CBeebies show Octonauts as well as a new Netflix OriginalLarva Island based on the Korean animated hit ‘Larva’.
