First up for the new Originals in June is the 3rd and final season of Marvel’s Jessica Jones (date TBC) – this season will see the end of all the Netflix/Marvel shows that we have enjoyed since Daredevil way back in 2015. On a slightly happier note, we have Season 5 of Black Mirror (5th Jun) making a welcome return with three new tales that remind us of the dark side of technology. Top Picks: New Films on Netflix UK for June 2019

Netflix are giving its UK subscribers a good mix of films in June – there is certainly something for everyone. With superhero films being huge at the moment it’s good to see Spider-Man: Homecoming (3rd June) being added to the roster – Spidey’s first solo outing in the MCU sees our web-slinging hero trying to deal with both his love life and trying to remain a secret superhero with Iron Man helping out along the way. Another big action film is Transformers: The Last Knight (1st June) which sees Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and the Autobots fending off the Decepticons as they join with the US government to hunt a sacred and powerful relic. June also sees the arrival of two classic films: the British crime comedy Snatch (1st Jun) and the 80s sci-fi film The Terminator (18th Jun). Award winning Danish film A Royal Affair (1st Jun) is worth adding to your watch list too which sees a young queen and her secret lover trying to overthrow the mad King Christian VII of Denmark. With the recent passing of F1 champion Niki Lauder it is quite timely that Netflix will be bringing us the racing film Rush (10th Jun) that tells the story of the late driver’s rivalry with fellow racer James Hunt.

For families and younger viewers we have the CGI animated film Despicable Me 3 (3rd Jun) which sees Gru finding his long lost brother and, of course, the ever-present Minions. Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole (1st Jun) is a great adventure film that sees a team of owls working to defeat an evil army and rescue a young owl from their clutches. And just in time for Christmas we have How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1st Jun) – worth a watch at any time of the year!

Top Picks: New TV on Netflix UK for June 2019

Possibly the biggest arrival this month for TV on Netflix UK is the complete series of Glee (30th Jun) – all 6 seasons of the feel-good musical show will be available to binge-watch. Season 2 of Baby Ballroom (5th Jun) continues to follow a group of young ballroom dancers and their families while Blue Planet 2 (10th Jun) is a wonderful nature documentary from the BBC that shows us life in our world’s oceans. Black Earth Rising (1oth Jun) is a thrilling BBG/Netflix co-production that follows a survivor of Rwandan genocide whose adoptive mother, an international lawyer, faces a case that will shake their lives.

June sees the arrival of a new gameshow on Netflix Awake: The Million Dollar Game (14th June) sees contestants being deprived of sleep for 24 hours in order to take part in a quiz to win $1,000,000. The second seasons of both The Confession Tapes (21st Jun) and Girls Incarcerated (21st Jun) should also fill any true-crime and reality voids you may have left.

  1. When is slasher season 3 out on Netflix uk as the web site what’s on Netflix says being released 23 May in all regions ?

    1. Pick TV get it first in the UK so I’m not sure why they said “all regions”. We only just got season 2 (Guilty Party) in January this year. I expect it’ll be a while yet before we get season 3.

  2. Hi Maft I notice a film you not showed on your new additions for the 30th June called the pyramid , good film.
